“We absolutely love the Boy Scout memory quilt made of my son and husband’s Boy Scout t-shirts and patches show-casing 10 years worth of sweat and stain and lots of quality time together! I had started making the quilt, but needed some help and Linda did a terrific job! It only took her a couple of weeks to finish our quilt! Thank you Linda!”

“Quilted T’s and Memories could not be any more suitable of a name. Linda Matuska Wycoff has got to be one of the most talented in this line of craftsmanship. Not only did Linda sew beautiful quilts of the late husbands clothes, but won first place in the Ouachita County fair with one. Thank you Linda for the wonderful support through my early grievance.”

“Sooooo, so happy with the quilting done by Linda! All our 6 kids are snuggled in heart quilts that we made and she quilted for us. Her work is gorgeous and, like my mom used to say, i Think “every stitch is made with love.”

“Her work is outstanding. She is talented, timely, and very reasonable with her prices. She makes Arkansas Razorback quilts for me out of t-shirts and they are beautiful. I sell them at charity and benefit auctions and I want to keep every single one of them. I highly recommend her and her work.”

“I am so pleased with my memory quilt. I have been thinking about doing this for years, and when I heard Linda was doing them, I sent her all my t-shirts that I have been collecting for years. It gives me warm fuzzies every time I walk into the bedroom, and see part of my past displayed in such a colorful way! By the way, it keeps me warm on a cold night as well.”

“Much appreciation goes out to Linda for designing and creating the quilts for our family. So many positive memories come back when I look at mine. It was a great comfort to know that clothing and keepsakes from the past were going to be used in something that we could keep close. Linda is a talented and perceptive quiltmaker.”

“I am so proud of the ones you made for my two grown sons and for my husband. Because we had tshirts from all occasions during my boys childhood we were able to restore or to capture their most important events while they were in school, played sports, and their favorite characters while growing up. I loved the way you put our quilts together. They really told each personal story and I think that is where your talent comes in. You just look at the t-shirts and what they represent and you study them and then you place where they all compliment each other. My only regret is that I didn’t save more t-shirts when they were younger and we didn’t make more.”

Below is a description of why quilts cost what they do. Even though it may seem as if these quilts are pricey the actual cost of quilts is higher than what I charge.

What It Truly Costs :

Why Do Quilts Cost So Much?

Costs for materials, construction, & finishing for a 65" x 65" throw quilt.

Materials for a throw quilt

Fabric for the top:

6 yds @ 11 yd = $66

5 yds backing @ $13 = $65

2 yds batting @ $11 = $22

5/8 yd for binding @ $11 = $6.88

TOTAL Cost for Materials = $159.88

Construction

(labor based on $10/hr)

Making the top:

(includes preparing the fabric, cutting the pieces, sewing the blocks, setting into rows, adding borders)

50 hours x $10/hr = $500

Assembling the quilt sandwich:

3 hours @ $10/hr = $30

Quilting on Domestic Machine:

(charged by square inch in a simple all over design)

4225 si x $.015 = $63.38

Thread for quilting - $15

TOTAL Cost for Construction = $768.26

Finishing

Making the binding:

2 hours x $10 = $20

Attaching the binding:

10 hours x $10 - $100

TOTAL Finishing Costs = $120

TOTAL COST OF QUILT = $1,048.14

Note: A larger quilt, a more intricate pattern, a more elaborate quilting design will cause the price to increase.
